Rig Site Community Contemplates: 'New' - New Workers. New Starts. New to the Role. New Starts. New to Industry. New to the Role.’, recognising that a lack of experience of any type brings extra challenges. Quarterly Safety Theme. Q3: Safe Lifting, Working at Height & Preventing Dropped Objects Articles • HSER Connect • Safer Together plays a key role in promoting safe work practice within the oil & gas industry, providing a means for workers to raise safety issues within the workplace. With our Collaboration Partners, Step Change in Safety (UK) and Always Safe (Norway), in Q3 we focus on Safe Lifting, Working at Height & Preventing Dropped Objects. Thorough planning and specific hazard identification for lifting operations, working at height, and preventing potential dropped objects allows hazards to be safely managed.
The Marine Industry Safely Blazing a Trail Towards Renewables Articles • Globally, the maritime industry currently generates 3% of all greenhouse gas emissions. As this sector adopts alternative energies, this has implications for safety systems, safety technologies, safety behaviours and safety performance. In April, our Marine Working Group held a Marine Forum and Incident Review Panel (IRP) in Perth to address these issues, with the focus of the Event ‘Alternative Energy Powered Vessels: Technical, Safety & Behavioural Implications’.
