This month, we are delighted to announce our newest Collaboration Partners, the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF) and Queensland Women of Wells (QWoW).

OCIMF is a voluntary association of oil companies with an interest in the shipment and terminal of crude oil, oil products, petrochemicals, and gas.

With its vision of a global marine industry that causes no harm to people or the environment, it has grown since inception to become a leading authority on safety for the global marine industry, and today has member companies and consultancy status at the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

OCIMF focusses on promoting best practice in the design, construction and operation of tankers, barges and offshore vessels and their interfaces with terminals inshore, onshore, and offshore. It does so by providing an independent forum for bringing together its members and external stakeholders to leverage their expertise in the creation of publications and programmes that enhance the safety and environmental performance of the marine industry.

Alongside an extensive publication library, OCIMF provides a portfolio of tools and inspection programmes used by vessel owners, operators, managers, and charterers worldwide to enhance the safety of their operations. This includes the Ship Inspection Report (SIRE) Programme, Offshore Vessel Inspection Database (OVID) and the Marine Terminal Information System (MTIS).

OCIMF is a forum for leveraging expertise across its member organisations and industry partners for the benefit of the global marine industry. By working collaboratively to develop tools and resources to help the marine industry respond to ever-changing risks, OCIMF seeks to continuously improve safety, security, health, and environmental performance.

During his recent visit to Perth, Graham Coles, Offshore Advisor, OCIMF, met with the Marine Working Group members to discuss strategic alignment to enhance mutual value in space of HSE, risk management and improvements in best practices that will benefit offshore marine safety and efficiency.

Saurabh Sachdeva, OCIMF's Publications & Advocacy Director said ‘I am pleased OCIMF and Safer Together have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to reinforce both organisations’ commitment to collaborate and share learnings to improve offshore HSSE operations. This work was supported by OCIMF’s Offshore Advisor’s meeting to discuss developing best practices with members of the Marine Working Group during his visit to Perth.'
